It is time for righteousness to be restored. God desires to free us from the chains that have so easily entangled. As we look to Jesus our pioneer and author, our perfecter of faith, we can cast off any doubts and concerns that the world may try to throw at us. Instead by faith, righteousness is restored within in us as we throw off any spiritual hindrance to pursue things of the kingdom and things of heaven above. (Romans 1:17, Hebrews 12, Colossians 3)

Only then once we are walking this way in humility that comes from the fear of the Lord, may we see how to love our neighbor perfectly as God’s perfect love casts fear. (Proverbs 4:22, 1 John 4:18)

So what are we holding on to that is not of God? What things that have looked ok by mans standards are truly not of the kingdom of heaven? Where are we putting our trust in confidence other than Christ alone? If we keep our gaze on Him we will not be shaken but have the fullness of joy at our right hand which is our strength. (Psalm 16) This is also the joy before us to endure our cross in loving others in this world the way Christ loves them. With no fear of what will happen to self, for Jesus himself became obedient even unto death as he walked in humility to do the will of God at each moment.

Isaiah 1:17

Let us learn to do right, seek justice, defend the oppressed and take up the cause of the fatherless and plead the case of the widow.

Justice’s scales are truth and righteousness. Without these two hand in hand we will not see true justice in place. We need the grace and truth of Jesus, which is both the grace to be forgiven and empowered to walk in truth. Jesus is the plumbline. As we learn to do right it will be done in truth and love in action not just in words.

Lessons from Lamentations

We need prophets to speak pure and true words of the Lord to expose our sins and ward off our captivity. Then there will be deliverance of our heart and minds so we may love freely in the Father’s perfect love (Lamentations 2:14)

Even in the midst of the darkness we are not fully consumed when we turn to the Lord to receive His great love and compassion which are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-27)

It is not always blessings but curses that come from people’s disobedience when they remain under the powers and principalities influences until God frees us by Holy Spirit and the blood of Jesus. The Spirit and the blood continually testify of the reconciliation and freedom from the chains of bondage. This is where everything changes and we break free. (3:38)

There is an exiting of Egypt (of our hearts and ways of thinking) for this is a time of examining our hearts and minds so that we can be free from sin and its bondage (Lamentations 3:40-42)

Many times our prayers do not get through because our hearts are not pure and motives not clean. When this alignment comes and as God’s children we begin to ask what is in the Father’s will, then we will truly see our prayers come to pass with no delay. When we carry the heart and mind of the Father, we see and know what and when He is doing things and join Him in prayer. God is working in our hearts at the same time He is calling peoples to Himself throughout the nations. (Lamentations 3:44; James 4, John 14:12-14)

God is molding people back to His heart right now. God’s Righteousness will be restored. (Lamentations 4:2)

There is light at the end of this lament. Our punishment ends as the blood of Jesus covers us for our exile not to be prolonged, but for any wickedness within us to be removed and exposed in His loving kindness. (Lamentations 4:22)
