Monique Parker,African American woman who is a famous actress and comedian expressed her disgust with Netflix offering her very low salary . Considering Monique Parker's experiences and level of fame, she feels she deserves more than what was being offered. While this may be just "celebrity news" to some, the issue speaks to the issues that lie at intersection of racism and sexism. Women of color may have the same or better qualifications as their male or white female counterparts, but still get offered lower salaries. Black women get paid the second lowest and Latina women getting paid the lowest.

Black women are being recognized for holding the most degrees, being enrolled in college at higher rates by gender and race yet still get paid lower than other male and female counterparts.

Black women also are being recognized for being the fastest growing group of entrepreneurs. Black women still face systemic issues and do not receive equal pay.

Ways we can advocate for these issues:

1) Learn about union memberships and women's organizations that are dedicated to these issues and donate funds to organizations to help lobby for higher wages for women.
2) Contact women's organizations and discuss the need for more scholarship programs to assist women of color with higher education and trade schools to help them offset costs
3) Encourage public and government owned job training centers to offer salary negotiation workshops for women of color.

Bonus:
Come up with ways to Help Women entrepreneurs of color get funding and grants to run their business so that they can hire other women of color.
