There were no good times in Rome for Christians and they were condemned to die in aberrant ways. In the case of Cecilia, they first tried it in the hot springs of her own house, trying to drown it with steam without getting it. Then, they called an executioner to cut off his head: the story says that he dropped his ax three times on it without getting it, so he fled in terror abandoning the young woman bloodied but alive. Although she was battered and finally died three days later. some works of art are already represented by a corpse with a cut in his neck.
