Internship Writing Assignment

Where did you do your internship?
At Technolab in Leiden.

What have you learned about this orginization?
It's not related to biology or chemistry at all. Essentially what the company does is host workshops for elementary school kids from around the city. Like a school trip but cheaper.

What does a typical workday look like?
You start at 8:30 with the general information for the day and you decide with the group who does what subject. The first class rolls in at 9:30 so at 9:00 you start putting all the parts together for your activity. A workshop tends to be around 2 hours, maybe 2 and a half if it is in the morning. So, at 9:30 you give the first workshop to the children and around 12'o'Clock you're done. Then it is time for group evaluation. You sit in a circle and talk about things that could be done better and thinks that were going well. The manager also gives you some constructive critisim which you can use. Then it is break time and at 1:30 the next class is here. The afternoon workshop is shorter because the kids need to leave at 3 PM. After the second workshop another evaluation and so forth. After the evaluation you clean up the stuff you used for the workshop and around 4:30 you can go home.

I always find writing reflections hard for English and Dutch. Mainly because the core concept of those classes doesn't change at all. I could write the same stuff I wrote last time here but that just feels wrong.

Aside from that, the semester went fine. Nothing changed, same old same old English.
