Hank says the hotel will be about $300,000. At first Mia was having a rough time getting money but eventually Mia and every single person who donated reached the goal of $300,000. When Mia and her family tell Mr. Yao they want to by the motel he says no, and also says another customer wants to pay 50,000 more dollars than Mia, so her family decides to loan out 50,000 dollars, but there was one problem Mia and her family's ID and passports would be taken, so when Mia and her family decide to loan out $50,000 the people said they will bring it tomorrow. At the end of the book it was the last day of school, right when Mia was about to leave Jason tells Mia "There is no other buyer," when Mia hears this she starts sprinting home to tell mom and dad not to loan out the money. Mia gets home just in time to tell mom and dad not to loan out the money, so the loaners got mad and asked for $20 because of all the gas they used and Mia's parents agreed. Mia and her parent's wanted to ask Mr. Yao one more time and this time Mr. Yao said yes, later on every one gathers in the parking lot for the contract to be signed once the contract was finally signed everyone jumps in the pool except Mr. Yao. When Mr. Yao asks if Jason is coming or swimming with the losers he says no to both and instead says "I am not going swimming with the losers I am going swimming with the winners."
