As Tagar puts it: "They remember a time when owning a Vespa was a status symbol, reminiscent of happier days in Uganda".

The project was quirky and depicted classical Italian scooters in an environment to which they are not typically associated. 
This highlighted the connection and passion shared between owner and bike - as there'd be far more practical choices of vehicle. 
I was inspired by the simplicity of the compositions: often shot in a very 'matter-of-fact' way. The lack of external flash ensures the images don't look commercial in any way, so the photographs retain their documentary look and feel. For my project, I'm also looking to photograph the connection between owner and bike - through a combination of posed and candid environmental portraits. 

Incorporating a small section of the backdrop is something I want to incorporate into my photography as it allows the viewer to locate where it has been shot whilst it clear what the main focus is (the people.) This also adds to the storyline as an element of detail (this being the location) which gives the viewer more context as to what the story/meaning behind the images are.

I am also a big fan of the way that Bremner has used his subjects natural expressions/poses as appose to staging them. This gives off a documentary style feel to these fish images which I feel works very well with this project.

·  She places a picture of her fish and next to it, a picture of her belongings. Particularly the jewellery ones are really similar to the idea I am going for.

·  I like how the jewellery ones her mother is wearing it in the picture next to the still life image. Shows the sentimental value of the ring to the photographer.
