Mediation is the process everything goes through before it reaches an audience. In my documentary the mediation process will be used on the script and how it will be written and re-written before it is finalised for production. Things we see in media are not reality but someones version of it. I will also be using close ups and low angle shots, costumes relating to the subject and language in simple form to describe different parts of a shoe

Mediation:

This process involves deciding how and what will be represented through a piece of media. For my project I will be using mediation within my mise en scene to represent the personality's of my characters. From my research and previous projects I feel I have a good understanding of what I can do as the creator of a piece to mirror my ideas onto my audience through visual and audio choices.

Anchorage:

A very important tool in changing or guiding your audiences opinions. Just by using graphics you can completely change the audiences perception and tone of the image. I will not be using anchorage to control my audiences opinion however if I did I would show my characters personality traits through it but I decided it would be much more effective to use mise en scene to do this.

Mediation is used when representing a number of things in a media product such as characters, editing, cinematography and mise en scene. My piece is going to be a talk show so I will use mediation to showcase the guests in different lights for example when they tell anecdotes and talk about different topics. I will achieve this by having a long conversation with each guest so that I have plenty of coverage to use then I will cut it down and remove the less interesting parts and keep the more interesting and engaging parts. This will effect how the audience view the guests because it will make the come across a certain way through this technique.

This idea involves the concept of making small. intricate decisions about how to present a piece of media such as mise en scene, cinematography, shot types, editing, sound, and much more. For my particular piece, I have begun to consider things like filming in a calm environment to emulate the emotion I'm looking for, I'll wear something casual to look relaxing, the sound will be calm but effective, the shots will see some intimacy with close-ups of my hands in a high angle and also a medium close up on an eye-level to have that sense of directness. As I go along I'm sure other decisions will evolve as well both old and new.

Anchorage
To further back up the pieces I mentioned in mediation I know that the ideology I wish to present is that of a calming, cooling down experience that will bring the audience into another world in a way. The intimate shot types, the casual clothing, the dark night time setting. All these different considerations should make my audience not feel interrogated but rather the complete opposite. It will be somewhat direct but it's mainly relaxing and to the point. There is a message that I want to convey, my ideology is to affirm the audience. With the points I have made with both mediation and anchorage I hope this ideology can be in fact met.

Mediation is one of the key elements in representation and mediation can be camera angle, editing style, language, or music we have in a media piece. Though, this all depends on the audience because every creative choice we have to make, should need to be parallel with audience. I think mediation is the tool such as filmmakers use to deliver the story to their audience. It is like a total package of elements that we can use any kind of media production.

Anchorage
The understanding the audience and delivering information in a layout, can hooked them into the story or news that presented. It can be the headline that’s publishing with a picture or captions in film. Anchorage the style that gives meaning to a picture or film by use of works.

Written by Thisura.

Joshua Moore
mediation is the decisions that a producer will choose to use in piece of media such as a film to represent a person or an ideology of theres to an audience using editing or the camera angles for example. They provide us with what we should think, they give us an opinion its a very powerful and impactful concept. In my Multi-Camera show i will use Mediation by using mise-en-scene because mainly the way i use lighting as i want to provide a moody and dark setting but not so its unrealistic i want to share the emotion in my piece with my audience.

Anchorage:
is a method that you can use to change the audiences opinon or view of a picture or video foe example if you have the dmae picture but chnage the conext of the way yous ue it it will chnege the persons the views using a oictuce from a protest against soemthing bad but putting atitle with soemthibg postive wouldchnage the audiences vidws however ai wont be usimg this in my peice bescue its not about porles opinuins i dont want to change what tehy because i wnat their actual opinjomn untouched etc.

I think in my piece, the closest I'll get to using anchorage will probably be through text however, with the sort of piece I am planning to make I don't think I will need to use anchorage at all.

Mediation are the decisions that are made to show the audience what will be represented.

Anchorage is the perception of what an audience is being show. We have the power to be able to adjust this perception and make an audience think a certain way. For my piece it's all about making an audience relax so I need to take this into consideration when making my piece. I everything to feel slow calm shots won't be so direct lighting not too bright everything will be calm.

Mediation
Mediation is all about making specific decisions about your piece which will also be used in how to present it to your audience these decisions can be to do with sound, lighting, Mise en scene, shot types and editing among other elements. For me I think I'd like to utilizes lighting to help keep a calm mood within my piece. The lighting will not shine to bright it will just be enough and not over the top or to direct.

In my piece I will use this to make it lighthearted and fun for the kids watching.

Anchorage
Anchorage is changing the layout and how things are presented to mean a specific thing, for example having a picture of a crowd and a caption talking about a concert is happy, whereas the same crowd with a caption about a riot would be sad. In my piece I will use it to set the tone of the news stories

Jay Harness

Anchorage is very important of portraying the meaning of media text, without it the audience could interpret a text in any way they choose, media products can anchor a TV program or video game by using certain camera angles to give us a particular perception of what the producer wants us to see, this is what I will be doing in my quiz show, I’ll only be showing certain shots of the studio to make it look like a quiz show. I will be using lighting to bright up the studio like other quiz shows do and I will also be using certain props like a clipboard to to hold the sheet of questions or maybe cards.
