He has also lectured at the University of Applied Sport Sciences, Amsterdam (ALO Amsterdam) in talent development and applied research methods.

His philosophy on talent development is published in collaboration with Prof. G. Savelsbergh and R. Wormhoudt in a book named: Athletic Skills Model, for an optimal talent-development process.
Jan Willem is always trying to look for the best combination of science and practice from an athlete/student/talent centered view.
