         <title>Woodrow Wilson</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>1.  Like Rooselvelt, Wilson agreed with progressive ideals.</p><p>2. Before presidency and politics, Woodrow was a lawyer, history professor, and then president of Princton University. </p><p>3. Wilson pushed for "New Freedom" trusts, tariffs, and high finance.</p><p>4. Wilson admitted the "Clayton Antitrust Act" of 1914, for the purpose of strengthening the Sherman Antitrust Act of 1890.</p><p>5. Clayton Act prohibited corporations from acquiring the stock of another if doing so would create a monopoly. </p><p>6.  Federal Trade Commission Act of 1914 was the second major antitrust act.</p><p>7.  Wilson fought hard for Underwood Act to reduce tariff rates since Civil War. </p><p>8.  Wilsons grandpa and dad were both ministers.</p><p>9. In 1910 Wilson became governor of New Jersey</p><p>10. Wilson approved of progressive era. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>1.  He became president after Roosevelt said he would no longer run for president.</p><p>2. Taft was the secretary of war before becoming president</p><p>3.  He was 6 feet tall and 350 pounds! He was well liked</p><p>4. Was chosen to be the cheif justice after being president</p><p>5. He only served 1 term</p><p>6. He urged congress to pass the income tax act</p><p>7. Teddy Roosevelt served a third term after him</p><p>8. He had over 90 trusts in a four year term</p><p>9. Taft signed the Payne- Aldrich Tariff</p><p>10. Taft was too cautious in the end to hold together the Republican party  with the conservatives and progressives</p>]]></description>

         <title>Teddy Roosavelt </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>1. Roosevelt was born into a rich New York family in 1858.</p><p>2. He mastered horseriding and marksmanship</p><p>3. At an early age he became a leader in New York politics.</p><p>4. He became president in 1901</p><p>5. He was the youngest president ever in his era at 42 years old.</p><p>6. He was blinded in his left eye from boxing and galloped 100 miles on horseback just to prove it was possible.</p><p>7. Roosevelt acted boldly in whatever he did.</p><p>8. Roosevelt felt like the government should take over when the states were incapable of doing so.</p><p>9. A "bully pulpit" was what Roosevelt saw the presidency as.</p><p>10.  He could influence media and shape legislation.  </p>]]></description>
