         <description><![CDATA[<div>There was tension between the North and South about slavery. In the beginning people thought that the war would be over quickly, but it wasn't. They even brought picnic baskets and watched the first battle.  There was a struggle to free the slaves. In 1865 the war was over. By the end there was a lot of damage, families lost there homes, and the North won. </div>]]></description>

They first used muskets, the shots that they made that were over 40 yards were inaccurate. They also used swords, knifes, and bayonets. People mostly died from a bayonets.  </div>]]></description>
