Include two key concepts that you gathered from any of the following sections of the reading: Indispensible Allies, "Domestic Insurrections", and an Ambiguous Legacy.

When you finish your thoughts, pose a thought provoking question about the reading.

1. It's interesting how much the war effected the African American population. Most of them were slaves and used the colonists' protesting as an open door to put forth their shouts for freedom as well. Some slaves were able to gain their freedom through fighting in the war on both sides. Two northern states abolished slavery in the end, while colonies that expanded west kept their slaves.
2. The Revolutionary War somewhat benefitted the women and brought them closer to earning more rights. They grew more confident and independent taking over for their husbands while they fought in the war and also helping with the boycotts. However after the war it once again became a struggle for them to earn their rights but they were more determined to achieve them.

Many colonists were furious at King George lll and his American representatives for and his American representatives for signing an alliance with the African Americans.
2. Most Americans did not want to leave the British Empire. They just wanted territory, trade, and no taxes.

Question: If a large portion of Americans did not have the desire to leave the British Empire, why did they allow it?
