<title>Soap and water is more acidic than just soap by itself, hence diluting some of soaps disinfectant powers. Soap is a basic and adding water to it makes it a weaker base. Adding ½ liter of water to ½ a liter of soap, made the soap 0.33 Ph more of a weaker basic. </title>

<title>When the pH level of the original substance is alkaline, meaning that it is above the pH level of 7, water will lessen the pH level in the substance. However, if the original substance is on the acidic side of the pH scale, the pH level will rise when water is added to it. </title>

<title>Adding solutions of different pH levels changes the pH level of the water (originally at pH 7). Hand soap and drain cleaner are more alkaline than milk or coffee (more acidic).</title>

<title>As water is added to a solution, the pH level of that solution grows closer to 7. This means that the pH levels of acidic solutions increase, while the pH levels of basic solutions decrease.</title>
