Hello, my name is Cayla Smither. I'm born and raised in Houston, Texas. I currently live in Houston now, but I have lived in Oklahoma and Kansas in the past for school.

My career path has been all over the place. At first, I wanted to be an orthopedic surgeon, nurse, a vet, something in digital media, and then a therapist. I'm still figuring out my career path, but I feel I'm getting closer to what I truly want to be. I know for a fact I want to have my own clinic and animal shelter.

Track and Academics

I went to Pratt Community College and Northwestern Oklahoma University as a college athlete and obtained both my associate's in biology and bachelor's in health and Sports Science. I was a track athlete from age 12 to the age of 23 when I retired. Triple and high jump were my specialties', but I also did sprints and relays as well. I set the triple and high jump record at my university and was a 3x All-American conference champion in my division.

Hobbies, Education, and Family.

My hobbies are traveling, spending time with family, reading, astrology and trying new food places. I also like to explore new bookstores as well in Houston and finding hidden gems.

I don't really have a special talent, but I am pretty good a UNO. I consider myself a very strategic person which makes me a difficult competitor to my peers in UNO.

I won't be the first person in my family to obtain a degree. My grandmother (paternal) beat me to it and got her bachelor's in education here at Texas Woman's. My mother also has a bachelor's in accounting and an MBA as well so unfortunately, I'm not the coolest person in my family. I guess you can say I come from a family of educators.

Lee and I been together since my last year of college three years ago. He's my first cat ever and I've had every animal you can think of.

Like I mentioned, I'm still figuring out this career life stuff, but I do believe obtaining both a healthcare and business administration degree is a great steppingstone to wherever I want to go.

I have a bunch of plans I want to do though like starting my own mental health clinic, a reentry program, and an animal shelter.

My plan in life to be a jack of all trades.
