this case of overfishing happened in Japan after WW2 where fishermen would use up to 60 miles of baited hooks to catch bluefin tuna in mass because they migrate over the pacific at that time. they would also unintentionally catch sharks, turtles and other sea life. the consequences of this would have been the damage to the food web which would have killed thousands of animals and even ecosystems. With overfishing many people think of it as a normal procedure and aren't doing anything about it because they also need the fish as well unlike whale killing and rhino killing where they didn't need the materials from them. There are obviously hundreds of non profit organisations to help take down over fishing and they have saved many, many ecosystems from being destroyed by overfishing.

In parts of the Black Triangle, entire forests were dead or dying and even railroad tracks were being corroded by the acidic precipitation. The emissions of coal-burning factories in Eastern Europe came under strict regulation by the Geneva Convention of 1979 to prevent further acid rain pollution, a measure that has been successful in significantly reducing acid deposition in the region.
