WHAT I KNEW ABOUT SCULPTURE BEFORE TAKING THE MODULE

What I know about a sculpture is that it is obviously tangible, it can be seen, and it is very solid. Sculptures are known to be very detailed whether in the lines drawn on the subject or the various expressions shown in the different subjects such as being happy, sorrowful, being angry, or any form of expression. Most sculptures I’m familiar with are represented through human forms such as gods like Zeus or significant people like David. Furthermore, marble, glass, clay, and other materials can be used for making different sculptures.

WHAT I LEARNED IN THE MODULE ABOUT THE FORM OF SCULPTURE AS A FINE ART

Carving, modeling, assembly, and casting are the four methods in making a sculpture. These methods also have a relativity to the sculpture since a specific method ca be used to portray a different yet a beautiful sculpture. Even if a sculpture is always in place, there is still motion just by looking at the subject itself. Viewers can infer what it is about to do or what movement the subject is doing just by looking at the sculpture. Greek and Roman have several sculptures however, they have their differences. Greek sculptures usually represent human forms of the different gods while Roman sculpture represent real people. Lastly, MASS and SPACE are two different principal elements. Mass talks about the wholeness of the sculpture, its bulkiness and the sculpture as a solid. While space is the air that is surrounding the whole sculpture.

It can sometimes appear to be very weird at the first glance.
