"NSTP in Action: Drug and Cybercrime Education for a Better Community"

Summary of the Webinar
     Plt. Col. Mencio discussed first about harassment and cyberbullying which includes the Bullying Act of 2013 (RA 10627); the meaning of cyberbullying and how it is being performed; the difference between bullying and cyberbullying; the reason why bullies bully others; the effects of bullying; the meaning of bullycide; and tips on how and what to do to avoid cyberbullying.
     After the question and answer portion of cyberbullying and cybercrime, she next discussed about illegal drugs, alcohol, and cigarettes which includes the functions of Blood Brain Barrier (BBB) or also called Keep out; the kinds of drugs that are legal like medicines, cigarettes, alcohol and illegal like abusing the legal drugs; the effects of illegal drugs to teenagers; lastly, the reason why people use illegal drugs which includes peer pressure and the changes and effects in someone using drugs.
     Our group also asked 1 question about cyberbullying:
What can we do to be able to confidently report the cyber bullying?
"There is a possibility the we will still be bullied If we tell adults or the authority, only a few weeks or days will pass and they will use it against you.
There's a mindset that if we tell someone, we will self degrade ourselves because we will think that we can't even resolve a simple matter."
     And 1 question about drugs:
It is said that marijuana is proven to be less harmful than other products like alcohol or tobacco. Marijuana can also stop pharmaceutical companies from selling expensive medicines. Why is it that marijuana is banned but cigarettes aren't when it is much more dangerous and addictive? Both question were answered by Plt. Col. Mencio.
 

Reflection
The webinar about drug awareness/cybercrime has has given us information about the negative outcomes of the said topic. These are a valuable information to us and the community we live in since teenagers are not that aware of the things drugs and cybercrime can do and affect people in so many ways.
