A couple days a ago we did an experiment. We put room temperature washers in hot water. After we put the washers in the water we took the temperature of the washers and the water. We then could see that the water got colder than before because the hot water molecules gave the hot water to the washers, so the washers were than warmer than the water.Water in cup,(102,90),washers,(7784)Then the next experiment we did we switched them.We then had room temperature water and hot washers. When we put the hot washers into the room temperature water, the washers became colder and the water became warmer.Water in cup,(77,92),washers(100,84).All of the science be hide this is not to complicated. The hot water molecules were moving fast in the water, because they were hot.On the room temperature washers, the molecules were moving a slower because they are cold. When we put the washers in the water they started moving faster because the hot water molecules transferred there hot water energy to the molecules in the washers. Now for the hot washers and the room temperature water, it is just the complete opposite.
