The book Witches talks about how a little boy discovers tips and secrets about witches from his grandmother who is looking after him. The boy soon discovers something secretive about the witches including the Grand Witch. Together the boy and his grandmother faces challenges and knowledge to put a stop at what the Grand Witch has planned. August ends up going to a private middle school and is afraid how the students react when they see his face. Along the way August meets a few people that become friends with him. Her mother sadly got into a car accident three years ago and now effected the way Sara and her father are living through out their daily lives. Lucky one day a white fuzzy kitten appears in front of their door step which leads to Sara wanting to keep the kitten until she realizes her father doesn't want to allow cats in their home which also leads Sara to figure out a way to convince her father to keep the kitten. She one night discovers something huge standing outside the window and immediately gets grabbed by the huge figure which turned out to be a giant. Once arrived at the giant's home she soon realizes that this giant was different from the ones she imaged they could be and goes through many adventures with the B.F.G to help unleash the good dreams to children. Along the way she meets another vampire named Diego who was there longer than then she has been, together they both carry on with hunting but also figuring out their purpose for being apart of this whole clan with other kids who are vampires. The novel is about a girl named Piper who lives on the country side with her dad, unfortunately she gets taken away from her father and is sent to a place where children are gifted with powers, but Piper doesn't understand why she was sent there since she's ordinary. Together, her and new friends along the way journey around the place searching for reasons why there were children with powers being held in this prison.
