I chose this event because it was significant for athletes around the world. This was the last Olympic for famous Olympians Usain Bolt and Michael Phelps.

I chose this event because this was a monumental moment for industry and tech. It showed how much money is in the tech space and that high value companies can reach a new milestone.

I chose this event because it has effected a lot of things relevant to today. Working from home was never mainstream until post-pandemic. Additionally, the pandemic is credited for the subpar learning and social skills of generation z and x.

I chose this event because it displays the US's control over other countries. After troops were removed, the National Afghanistan Army fell and the Taliban retook control.

I chose this event because for many, solidified Messi as the greatest soccer player of all time. Another reason is because the final game for the trophy was one of the greatest games ever played. Back and fourth with Mbappe of France putting up 3 goals on his own, but Argentina held strong.

This event is major as it is close to us here in NC and could've very well hit the Charlotte area too.
