The word old right before desire gives us a clue that the word desire in this context means it is something from the past. Aswell the phrase "in his deathbed lie" shows that what the word is being used for is in a past tense meaning that this desire of his has passed. The next couple of lines reflects the death of his old love and the sprout of his new. So we can connect that he is talking about his old want for the women before Juliet.
