The Louisiana purchase was in 1803-and its key events were starting off with the failure of France to put a slave revolution in Haiti, this continued on to the war with Great Britain and the British naval blockade with France that was combined with French economic difficulties, this may have convinced Napolean to offer Louisiana for sale for the united states. These events lead up to the civil war because they were the first to start off how Americas territory was made to lead to its great history.
