Nelson wanted to end the apartheid. Apartheid is a system that separates non-whites from whites creating inequality. Unfortunately Nelson was put in jail for 27 years because of his belief that all people should be treated equally. So in 1990 Nelson was finally released. Then four years later in 1994 he was elected president of South Africa. This is why Nelson Mandela is a hero.

I know this because when Elsa runs away the town thinks she is dangerous, but Ana knows she is simply misunderstood. Ana shows courage when she goes on an adventure to save her sister.
