• Text/Subject- This poem creates an image of a young woman enjoying her work as a dial painter. Laughing and having fun with her peers all glowing from radium paint. Then she begins her light begins to dull as she grows sick from the paint.

• Context- This poem is based on the historical facts of radium use in the early 20th century. Greenlaw uses her writing to demonstrate how girls used the paint, not knowing the damage it was doing their bodies.

His lyrics, "Death is glowing in the dark, my bones they fell apart."
