Maddie, I enjoyed how you opened your presentation with a colorful visual to engage us right from the start! I appreciate your use of quantifiers in your STAR example to show how the child you were working with was able to improve his balance. Your mention of the related practicum objective was also helpful to note. Your "fun slide" about the Abilities Center was truly fun! I was a bit confused by the statistics you presented about the prevalence of autism diagnoses in children (I think you mentioned 1 in 68 at first and then said 1 in 110 are diagnosed?) - Perhaps I read your slides incorrectly, but a little more clarification with the numbers here could be beneficial. It's so critical that you noted the possible limitations (ex: small sample size) of the literature you encountered, so thank you for including that.

I really like the small progress you included seeing in your STAR example. I think the slide you used to present it could've had less text one it to help draw the eye of the viewer to the most important parts. The capstone question you proposed is interesting and seems like a necessary niche to investigate. It could help you too look into organizations that use music therapy like the one you work at that could supplement the lack of information you have due to small sample sizes?

I like how in depth your STAR example was and how you related it to your learning objective. I think your capstone question is very interesting and it's great it closely relates to your practicum. I think you had a lot of good information on some slides, but at times it was a bit overwhelming. I like how you included some of the limitations of the studies you found in your literature review.

I appreciated how you mentioned what the mission of your site was and how you worked to fit that mission during your practicum. The STAR method was nice and in depth, but from an outside perspective of someone not involved in OT, you might consider describing more about the methods and tasks that you did and what the different exercises are and if there were any challenges you faced when trying to execute these exercises. Your conclusion and results slides were a bit redundant. Maybe try to find alternative ways to prove that music therapy was proven useful. Perhaps gathering some articles or interviews with students and their parents about how the music has improved their lives, etc. Try to find more data perhaps as 17 is not truly a large sample size statistically speaking. Overall, this was a good presentation and you clearly have a lot of thorough data. Good job!

Especially from the perspective of someone who plans to pursue OT, I really enjoyed hearing about your STAR. The outcome measures you included were interesting. I would've definitely liked to have seen a photo or some kind of visual to understand what that looked like. Your slides had quite a lot of writing, which made it a bit difficult to absorb but you did a nice job explaining the information that you had on your slides. I really like the connection between your practicum and your capstone paper.

I have some questions about your STAR example. How is CME different from other motor development interventions? What does CME specifically entail? The outcome of the STAR was really well measured and understandable, but the STAR overall could have been presented more concisely. I loved learning about the services your site has to offer. I like that you linked the children with Autism that BAC serves with your Capstone question- does this relate to your STAR, or do children receiving CME often have different disabilities? You offered lots of explanation and detail for many of the slides and points presented, but some slides were a bit overwhelming. Your topic and corresponding literature is intriguing and important!

I wonder if you would come across more/more consistent findings about music therapy outcomes in studies evaluating other interventions as well as music therapy for skills development in children with autism. You seemed to have done a lot of research on something that there probably isn't a lot out there about. Thanks for sharing the limitations. Confirming the pronunciation for CME could be helpful in the future if presenting in a more professional setting.
