Her role in the book is being a transgender girl who meets a friend.
She is friendly because she becomes friends with Dunkin and was really nice with him.
Shy Because Lily is too afraid to wear girl clothes to school.

Dunkin- Norbert is his real name, he usually wears jeans and a shirt. His role in the book is a boy who just moves to Florida and is trying to make friends and he comes across Lily.
He is kind because at the beginning he was being friendly to lily by buying her a ice coffee. 
He is a little selfish for ditching Dare and Lily at lunch for the guys that bullied lily.

The middle of the book is when they are at school and Dunkin meets new friends at lunch and they talk about basketball even though he doesn't play but he says he does anyways, so when he gets home he has to quickly learn how to play for his new friends.
