Did you know that artificial sweeteners are believed to affect weight gaint? Scientists have discovered that consuming artificially sweetened foods and beverages “disappoints” brain cells that were expecting sugar, based on the taste. As a result, our brain tells us to keep eating, hoping to get the sugar it was promised. Such knowledge about cells can help us make healthier choices in the foods and beverages we consume.
