Geckos are tiny creatures with interesting qualities that have captivated many. The feature that has served as an inspiration to many is found right beneath Geckos feet: Gecko hair is so sticky thanks to its 6.5 million setae (see picture below) - scientific word for little hairs- that it could stick and hold on to anything!
The technology Geck hair has inspired is, in fact, numerous and successful, including climbing, wound sealers, strong bandaids, among many others.

The stickiness of Geckos' hair is the one to be considered
Geckos are reptiles that one can find about everywhere but Antarctica (National Geographic Kids). They come in all types of colors and sizes and are known to adapt greatly to many types of conditions. Their body parts serve many purposes that have to help them survive for so long.
Geckos tails help them keep balanced, store fat to use as fuel, climb, and can even lose it if faced by a predator. They are most active at night and follow a strict diet of insects, fruits, and some flower nectar.

The feature about Geckos to be considered for the adaptation of this biomimicry design is their sticky feet. Their setae allow geckoes to attach to any type of material with a few exceptions. While this feature has been mimicked for other designs a different perspective will be done in this case.

There are many ways that Geckos features can help humans do many things better:
1) Climb
2) Sealant of Wounds
3) Strong Bandaids

The Need/Problem I thought about that Geckos features could help us solve is a simple one that we could benefit from in the daily -PICK THINGS UP & NOT DROP THEM.
This could be helpful for people of many ages. What if we had a something as sticky as GECKO FEET to avoid dropping everything we try to hold on to?

This design can be adapted to different fabric/types of gloves. Velcro or other gecko hair like structures can be glued on to the glove or sewed on to create a Gecko Grip glove that would help hold on to "things".
This prototype would help hold on to items without dropping them but keeping them "stuck" to the glove.
The uses of this design can be used in many areas depending on the materials used.
My specific design: fabric glove with velcro strips can hold on to fabric type items and keep them on there until removed: handy for picking up fabric pieces after sewing?
