We feel like we have a much clearer idea of what we will be spending our collab/PLC time on now as well! We also started on a common formative assessment for our upcoming unit on photosynthesis and respiration. Still feel that there are some individuals who want to have control of what the group is doing rather than it being fully collaborative like it should be, but we did make progress in the right direction today.

Choosing the essential standards for sem 2 is really valuable. I feel overwhelmed and feel super behind with content this year. I really feel that there is a need for the science department to work with the math department on certain areas that will help students be more successful in our classrooms. The idea is to divide and conquer.

The opportunity to discuss and formulate the department's vision as a team was very important. I just wish that everyone was here to participate in the process and to really solidify the team.
