Those people can't recall the perfect simple thing of having his first birthday. And the writer says that ge dresses up and it is hard/complicated to be two. But the writer can lie on his bed and look back/ memories rushing back at every year he grows older. During his birthday, he dressed up. When he was four

At two he started looking things in a more complex way.At four he imagined himself to be an arabian wizard and thought that he could be invisible by drinking milk in a certain way.At Seven he imagined himself to be a soldier and at nine,a prince. This shows that he had a Very good imagination when he was young.

When the author says that he ‘is mostly at the window’ it means that he is very lonely and he is pretty much wasting time staring through the window. Is it also stated that he was’watching the late afternoon light’ means that he prefers the dark late days rather than the bright mornings.’Back then he never fell so solemnly against the side of the treehouse’ tells us that before he was ten he used to spend alot of happy times at his treehouse. It is also stated that his ‘bicycle never leaned against the garage,as it does today’Through this we can clearly see that before he turned 10 he always used to use his bycicle but now he doesn’t.Finally it says that ‘all the dark blue speed drained out of it’.This tell us is that before turning ten he used to ride his bicycle at high speeds often. So through this stanza we can infer that after turning ten the author’s life changed completely and the happy and cheerful boy he used to be now changed into a gloomy and sad boy

there’s this boy, who’s at the window oftentimes and he feels lonely. He sits at the window to watch the late afternoon light which is not as bringt compared to noon. Last time when he was younger he didn’t feel sad when he was at the side of his tree house, his bicycle usually does not lean against his garage but it did now that he turned 10. He had a wild imagination and believed when he rode his bicycle he would imagine there was dark blue speed and taht he would ride his bicycle really fast back then.
