American Civil War (April 12th, 1861 - April 9th, 1865)

This time period consisted of a worldwide rivalry that is still being debated in today's world, a segregation between two idea's. A world where slave labour is legal, and where Slave labour is illegal giving freedom to African American's that fell victim to unhealthy living conditions and tiring work hours with no reward. Being treated as less of a human because of their skin colour.
The president in 1861 being Abraham Lincoln as well as a military leader and a supporter of the Northern American States in which it was mostly industrialised and did not have slavery. There was then a Union created with great military leaders of the north in attempt to abolish slavery as a whole.
There were multiple fronts of which the war was fought, becoming marked by various battles and campaigns including; Bull Run, Antietam, Gettysburg and Chickamauga. along with Abraham Lincoln came other significant American military powers in this Civil War, On the Confederate side: Robert E. Lee, William Tecumseh Sherman and Stonewall Jackson. on the Union side: George B. McClellan and Ulysses S. Grant.
This war had colossal impacts on the United States. Ultimately abolishing slavery in the south, strengthening of the federal government, changes in the political and social aspect. The damage of this war caused an enormous death toll that was estimated as 620,000 soldiers and civilians making it one of the deadliest conflicts in American history.

I believe that this gruesome war of racism was the reason everything started changing for African Americans in the south and around the world, after abolishing slavery many countries matched their efforts. This civil conflict still occurs in the United States, in July 2014 a movement was created (BLM) which divided the states and caused riots. These events are in a very different timeline from each other, which shows that African Americans are still getting treated as less of a human being.
This battle ultimately being a stepping stone in the fight for equality throughout all races. gaining hope and freedom as one.

Russo-Japanese War (Feb 8th, 1904 - September 5th, 1905)

Japan started the 20th century in extreme isolation from the world, blocking boarders areas and not allowing anyone in or out of the island. That is until a ship reached their ports from America, they demanded to be let through, in which Japan could not refuse as their ships have more advanced technology as well, larger ships are intimidating. The general of the ship would go on to tell Japan's leader of War tactics and if they stayed in the same state, they would be captured. Japan decided to take the Americans advice acquiring their own military and better technology, with all of this money going toward militarism they were bound to expand their empire and finally take out the Koreans (a long rival of the Japanese people). All of the money to be lost in improving the country would be gained back after capturing the mainland of Korea, and eventually Manchuria. Being available to trade natural resources would benefit the government and allow their army to expand.
Russia had a established army and vast amounts of resources, the country was considered a "great power" by its European neighbours when they lost brutally to a lesser known Power. In which made the spirits of former nationalistic citizens to repel against the war and create a revolution, a new leader and form of government would take forth in "solving everyone's problems" the ideology being the way of communism.
Their economy couldn't take any more strain, this led to returning Manchuria to China and moving out of China's southern border. A peace treaty to be signed by Russia and Japan formalised its hold of Korea, annexing the country in 1910. after this the Korean citizens language and culture were violently suppressed.
I think that Russia signing the peace treaty showed the weakness of their country, causing more upset and want for change.
This as well highlights their advancements in Japan's domestic political power and military, by World War One Japan is in a position to match with Great European Power.

The First World War was started by a Serbian group that carried the hatred of the royalty in Austria-Hungary, Their Assassination attempt on Franz-Ferdinand started in Sarajevo and ended in Sarajevo. The original assassination attempt failed killing multiple bystanders, an individual later succeeds in their attempt by pure luck at catching him and his wife on a dead end street, they turned around and he took the shot.
The Austro-Hungarian Royalty put blame on the Serbian government for this incident, Germany, Hungary's neighbouring growing imperialist country had plans of invading France and revenge for the stolen Rhineland. An alliance group was formed shortly after Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia. Russia, a country who has a protection policy towards Serbia and Alliances with multiple great powers throughout Europe including, United Kingdom, France and others. after making attacks on Serbia escalation occurred, Germany getting their massive army ready on their west border in attempt to take out France before Russia mobiles, there were multiple skirmishes along the France border but the Germans made less progress than they thought. Russia runs its army on the east of Germany and they have to fight from either side, Germany was starting to feel the pressure but decided to keep pushing toward Paris. They were unsuccessful with America joining the war in 1917 with their resources, man power was decreasing and they needed to end the war before their society could not be saved. The war had been planned to end with a peace treaty called the Treaty of Versailles, which included giving up the Rhineland, the loss of land and a massive fine for damages. This left Germany in a social rut, terrible living conditions and damage to Nationalistic Citizens of the former motherland of Germany.

I think that World War 1 was a poorly thought out attack that escalated into a brutal 4 year war, that gained no benefit for Germany or their people as the leader promised. Overall i believe this was a prime example of propaganda, and how the disastrous events that occur in the second world war could have been avoided with more support to Germany's people.

World War Two- The Nazi Ideology (September 1st, 1939 - September 2nd, 1945)

Germany is recovering from a huge peace treaty made by France at the end of WW1 that has been collapsing their government, German people have been wanting a leader that could provide a solution to the problems of their country. Which is the exact strategy Adolf Hitler used to become the absolute leader of Germany. Adolf's come to fame in political parties occurred when he attempted to overthrow the government his plans didn't succeed and he was sent to prison, while in prison he wrote a book on his belief's and what needs to be done to get Germany on the right track, with him as Fuehrer and the extinction of all Jewish peoples. After his sentence was over he would begin a campaign and take over the government legally as he knew that the way to get support from his "servants" was to act as a saviour , speaking with purpose and fierceness. Knowing what he wants and bringing nationalism and a reason to fight back into the lives of citizens, his first priority was to restore his army and naval and provide jobs to Germans (excluding women and Jews).
Hitlers army is strong and ready to finally destroy France along with the rest of Europe, he positions his troops in the Rhineland a non-militarised section of land on the boarder between France and Germany. Although it seems as the strategy is the same with this war, the Nazi's make a move through Belgium getting Great Britain along with their allies involved in this war. They now face two forces but eventually make it into France and swiftly move forth in their plan to take the capital (Paris), as this happens Russia is ready on the western side of Germany's border and they once again have to face war on two fronts. Although this pressure didn't stop them from taking France it caused Hitlers downfall as the United States joined the war providing the force that Britain needed to take Germany down.
The death count of this war was not all from fighting on a battlefield, Jewish people were sent to concentration camps and most were killed.
I believe that this war could have been prevented or could have been stopped before so many innocent people died, the help of the US was much needed during the start of the war instead of an isolation policy. if they enforced the Treaty of Versailles rules while Germany was attempting to become a military power this 5 year war wouldn't exist.

From June 25, 1950, to July 27, 1953, North and South Korea were engaged in a military war known as the Korean War. With assistance from the Soviet Union and China, the communist North invaded the democratic South, starting the war. While communist China and the Soviet Union supported North Korea, the United Nations, under the direction of the United States, intervened on behalf of South Korea.
The battle was put in stalemate and the Korean peninsula divided along the 38th parallel, the ceasefire was signed and with that came an armistice. the Koreans were faced with a peace treaty in which they both never signed meaning their still at war as we speak.
The result of the war was 1.2 million soldiers, citizens and untold of destruction throughout Korea.
North Korea's government has kept this feud for decades and I believe that their army is strong enough to make this war a reality again, The leader of North Korea has a strict no one in and no one out policy but how long can that lasts especially with technology. I know that if there's a threat to the south of Korea, America will be there to save them once again.

The Vietnam War was a Cold War-era conflict that consisted of many countries and rivals. Including, The North communist government of Vietnam being supported by the Soviet Union and the South Government of Vietnam being supported by the U.S.A and other anti-communist countries.
America became increasingly involved from the 1960's onwards, by 1968 over half a million soldiers were stationed in Vietnam. Widespread riots and civil unrest about the logistics of this war left extreme controversy among citizens and concerned family members.
The War then ended when North Vietnam forces moved into the capital Saigon and the governments unify under communism, with the result of this gruesome conflict being 2 million Vietnamese citizens and 1.158 million combined soldiers fighting from both fronts.
The Vietnamese war had a massive impact on American's society as well as foreign policy, this event further continues to shape the modern relationship between the U.S and Vietnam.
Some unpopular opinions include; The Vietnam war was a waste of time and took the lives of thousands of Americans, while others think that people were brave for fighting in a conflict that had nothing to do with them.
I believe that it advanced military strategies in a timeline where technology was becoming more advanced, but I also agree with the fact citizens lost trust in government institutions and not aligned with the belief of American exceptionalism.

A ongoing conflict with the Mexican government and different drug trafficking organisation, this began when the Mexican military was used to attack the cartels as part of a crackdown led by then-President Felipe Calderón. Since then, the war has intensified and led to several murders, violent crimes, kidnappings, extortion's, and bombings.
The effects of this has affected many parts of Mexico, as well as States along the Southern border some being, Tamaulipas, Chihuahua and Baja California. This battle has also led to human rights violation and corruption within both law-enforcement agencies and the Mexican government.

More recently a new president of Mexico named Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador has taken a new approach in dealing with cartels, focusing on social programs and trying to reduce violence rather than militarising the fight.
I believe that this is a good approach in a situation where there are so many cartels nowadays.

There has been an ongoing conflict between the two countries when Russia officially annexed Crimea from Ukraine. Due to cultural, historical and political differences, tensions have been rising between Russia and Ukraine for years prior to the annexation.
In more recent times fighting has occurred in East Ukraine, where separatist rebels whom have believed to be backed by the Russian government, these rebels have acquired parts of the region.
There have been over 13,000 people already killed in this attack by Russia. The International community including, the European Nations and the United States have imposed economic sanctions on Russia, in response to their actions in Ukraine.
This is a very new war and will be different from others, as I have personally seen videos of what is happening in Ukraine. it is insane to see a battle play out in our timeline.
I hope that this conflict is resolved in a way that doesn't turn into war, I've also heard the United Nations is sending valuable resources and food to people struggling in Ukraine. Overall I believe we should be doing more to support Ukraine in any way possible.

The Great War Of Africa was a conflict that took place in the democratic Republic of Congo and was a continuation of the First Congo War, this conflict involved multiple countries; Uganda, Rwanda and Angola. An estimated 5.4 million people are reported to have died as a result of the war, mostly from disease and malnutrition, and many civilians were displaced. Although fighting and bloodshed have persisted in some areas of the DRC since the Sun City Agreement was signed in 2002, the conflict was technically declared over at that time. After, hate-ridden soldiers on opposing sides made this war difficult to end.
This reminds me of The Boer Wars, a strategy that they used as a last resort when you are attempting to outwit the opposition with a swift and sneaky attack, this is called Gorilla tactics.
