The SATs results are only one measure of how wonderful our children are but in particular this year, the SATS results are the best results in the school's history.

Miss Hill will be leaving us this year to take up an exciting new role as Deputy Headteacher at a new school. While we are incredibly sad to see her go, we are also immensely proud of her achievement and wish her every success in this next chapter of her career.

Throughout her time with us, Miss Hill has made a lasting impact on our school community – from the children she has taught and nurtured, to the staff she has inspired and supported. Her passion, dedication and unwavering commitment to our values have left a legacy that will be felt long after she has moved on.

We know she will be an exceptional Deputy Head, just as she has been an exceptional member of our team.

This week’s story reminds us that Christians believe their faith in God offers a promise of safety, comfort and hope during difficult times. Just like the people in the Blue Mountains found shelter in caves, Christians see God as a safe place, offering comfort and security when life is challenging. This story reminds us that in times of danger or worry, God is always there.

Ask your children the following questions: What does it mean to feel safe? When have you felt truly safe? What does it mean to feel comforted? When have you given or received comfort? How did it make you feel? #LetYourLightShine💡

As we approach the end of the school year, our final two weeks of worship will be a special time of reflection and celebration. We will be exploring all of our school’s core values - Love, Integrity, Generosity, Honesty and Trust.

It’s a wonderful opportunity for all of us - children and staff alike - to reflect on how we’ve carried these values in our hearts and actions and how they will continue to guide us into the summer and beyond.

What a week it has been! The summer heat has certainly made its mark and I want to extend my thanks to all our children and staff for showing such determination and positivity despite the soaring temperatures. It’s never easy to stay focused in such conditions, but our school community continues to shine.

Amidst the warmth, we’ve had some wonderful moments to celebrate. A huge well done to our Year 5/6 cricket team who took part in a local tournament and secured an impressive third place! Their teamwork, sportsmanship and perseverance were a credit to the school – we are incredibly proud of them.

As we look ahead, it’s hard to believe we are just one week away from the summer holidays. For our Year 6 children, the final stretch of their primary journey is packed with excitement. Next week will be a memorable one, filled with special events to mark the end of their time with us. It’s a time of celebration, reflection and well-deserved recognition of all they have achieved.

Finally, a heartfelt thank you to all our families for your support with Freezy Fridays. Your generosity has been overwhelming and we’re delighted to share that over the past two Fridays, we’ve raised an incredible £260. Every ice pop enjoyed not only brought smiles on hot days, but also contributed to a fantastic cause – we are so grateful for your continued support.

The workshops will outline what anxiety or low mood is, the symptoms, and how this impacts children and young people.  We will provide support strategies to help manage the physical and emotional feelings of anxiety and low mood.  The transition workshop will explore feelings that come with preparing to transition to new schools and or year groups and how to support children and young people with this.

Workshops are 90 minutes long and will be delivered by the Mental Health Support Team in Schools as part of the Wigan Borough Family Hub offer. If your child is struggling with anxiety or low mood or preparing for transition, this will be a useful, informative workshop for you! We look forward to meeting you.
