Stereotypes of Black women are multilayered and complex.  Today's stereotypes of Black women are based upon historical representation of Black women.  For example, racism is directly linked to slavery, specifically stereotypes that emerged of Black female slaves. The angry Black woman stereotype was based upon our anger for the brutality of slavery.
