I haven't had a lot of work experience but I did work at Home Depot for 2 months, it was the worst job ever, they kept switching the department I would work in so I never really learned how each department worked, especially since every department was very different, the customers there were also terrible, one of them wanted to fight me one time, I didn't understand why because I was trying to help him.

I haven't had a lot of work experience but I did work at I now work for the City of Miami Parks, it's a good job and my manager lets me do homework whenever I'm able to. It's not a lot of hours but it still pays pretty good. I also love music, I can listen to almost anything, I love Billie Holiday, Sam Cooke, Frank Sinatra, oldies like that but I can always change it up with artists and genres, Tupac is my favorite rapper of all time and Nirvana is my favorite band. I know it may seem like I only listen to old music and for the most part I do, but I do listen to people like J.Cole and Kendrick Lamar those are my two favorite artist of today. I also of course listen to Spanish music especially bachata and reggaeton, and I'm recently getting into old French music.

I attached a photo of the new transit map and it looks more complex than what it used to look like. There's almost no part of Miami in which there's no source of transportation and you can literally get anywhere. Not only is there always transportation now but it's also affordable, with an EASY Card costing 2.25, and that gets you a ride on the bus and on the metro-rail.

Is the New System Efficient?

I used to take the bus and the train all the time but with these recent changes I wanted to see if there was a difference between how fast and efficient the bus system is. I took the 51 bus from Government Center and I didn't have to wait for it for more than 5 minutes, I used to wait for like 20 minutes a year ago. I also hopped onto the 11 bus from a bust stop that's around the corner of my house and it also took about 5 minutes to get there I got off at Civic Center and although it's a short drive, I checked the TV screen where it informs you when the next bus will arrive and it said in 8 minutes which is better to a year ago when I would have to take the bus almost everyday and I would wait 15 or more minutes. I can clearly tell that it's more efficient.

The bus is also now free in the City of Miami. This new change will benefit people that need to go from place to place, instead of having to worry to play $2.25 for each way you go, now you don't have to pay at all. Now you can use the bus for free and with the new, more efficient bus system as well. We talked about free bus transportation in Conversation Week 9 and most of us agreed that it is a great idea that will help out the community and now it's good to be able have it.

Week 2 Conversation (Peacocks)

Listening to the videos did change my view of how big the problem with the Peacocks taking over Pinecrest is. I also think that giving Peacocks a vasectomy is a good plan to control the population and have less of them in their backyards, on their roofs, scratching their cars, etc. Being able to control their population would be beneficial to both sides, Peacocks wouldn't be targeted as often or attacked by dogs, and people wouldn't have to deal with their cars being scratched, etc. This is a great way to embrace, and enjoy their colorful feathers, and not them be a big problem that interferes with the lives of the people in Pinecrest.

Week 4 Conversation (Endangered Turtles)

I'm choosing to write about the fifth video. They really showed us the process that they go through to take care of the turtles from the moment they get them and showed us the process all through letting them go. They really wanted to inform us on why it is important to care for the turtles and how their population is slowly declining from our seas. I also want to refer to the second video only because at the very end the lady was telling us about having to let go of the turtles, it made me think to myself "I wouldn't be able to do if I were them." I've always liked turtles, I think they're calm animals and they literally just go with the flow of things, if I were to tale care of turtles I would be sad if I had to let them go. Watching all these videos really does more than just tell us that turtles are endangered, like how they told us in elementary school, they tell us ways we can even help out turtles.
