A push factor was that if you were a Hindu in Pakistan or a Muslim in India you might face persecution racism if you stayed so they moved. A pull factor would be that it would be easier to get jobs if you were in the country aligned with your religion. This was forced migration because they couldn’t stay otherwise they might be persecuted. People were migrating between two countries this makes it international migration. Colonization was shown when India it was controlled by the British and then a British Raj. Then a British lawyer who lacked understanding about the different religious areas of India drew the boarders to devastating consequences. Seven million people moved from India to Pakistan and seven million moved from Pakistan to India. Therefore, the migration flow generated a counter migration. 
2. The majority of immigrants in this case did only travel s hurt distance. They moved to a neighboring country that used to be a part of the country they are from. 
3. When moving from one country to another the majority of these immigrants went to cities.
4. People in urban cities actually moved because they were epicenters for the violence and chaos that broke out.
5. Migrants were more likely to be individuals, especially males. Families were less likely to move because they needed to be sure they had a means to make money
