The good thing with this is that the traditions will be kept and they will have lots of historical value. Also, since they all believe in the book they will confess their sin and people will be caught.

However, the problem with having past ideals and applying them to modern day culture is that people change, and things from the past may not apply to the modern day culture and you cant change the religion, the laws will be outdated. In Saudi Arabia their law is civil but heavily influenced by the sharia law.

Its courts observe few formalities. The country's first criminal procedure code was introduced in 2001 and contains provisions borrowed from Egyptian and French law. Human Rights Watch, in a 2008 report, noted that judges were either ignorant of the criminal procedure code or were aware of it but routinely ignored the code.
