  • I think the symbols signify the elements present in the compound, and the subscript is the amount of that element. 
  • I think only Bottle A contains gold because it has Au, which is the elemental symbol for gold

Also Au is the chemical symbol for gold, so if they both were gold then it would be labeled as Au on both.
