Gestalt theory, which emerged in late 19th-century Germany, posits that the mind perceives events as organized wholes, not as isolated parts.

Its founders, including Wundt, promoted scientific psychology with experimental methods.

Gestalt theory rejects the reductionism of behaviorism and emphasizes the holistic perception of mental processes.

In education, it proposes teaching "from the whole to the parts," for example, learning sentences before letters.

Its pedagogical principle is holistic understanding, which understands the human being as an integral unit.

This principle considers that learning occurs when organized wholes are grasped.

Therefore, holistic methods coordinate subjects to avoid the dispersion of knowledge.

Teaching should be based on the child's natural perception, uniting thought, emotion, and action.

Thus, learning means understanding complete and meaningful structures, not isolated fragments.

3.
