This type of violence is violence that is directed against a person because of their gender . But mostly the victims are women and girls this is because of their subordinate status in the society , gender Based Violence includes any act or threat by the perpetrator be it sexually , physically or phycological harm on the victims because of their gender . There's violence at home whereby a man physically assaults his female partner this could be sexually or psychologically . Then there's rape , which occurs when someone is forced to have sex without their consent , which is violent and humiliating assault in most cases rape leaves the victim emotionally ruined for their entire life and this violates a women's integrity . Gender Based Violence has been an on going thing for all these years , something has to be done , programs should be carried out at homes , schools and communities to educate both females and males on the women's rights . Parents should also teach children from a young age to develop positive life styles that promote healthy living and ensure that they prevent GBV from expanding . Women could establish GBV support groups whereby they'll learn each other how to challenge men who beat their wives and anyone who perpetrates any form of violence again women and girls .
