Racial Bias Incident: In 2018, Starbucks faced a high-profile incident where two African American men were arrested at one of its Philadelphia stores while waiting for a friend. The incident led to accusations of racial bias, which prompted Starbucks to close its U.S. stores for a day for racial bias training and take other steps to address the issue.
