Photo number 1 shows me in a traditional English clothing alongside my friends dressed up in a Japanese wafuku and a Filipino bahag, with different flags in our background. It is the teenagers in our church participating in the celebration of "World Missions" by dressing up, representing different countries, and giving identity, appreciation, and support to different missionaries all over the world.

I chose this photo because it is a significant remind for us youth to not only value our differences but preach the Gospel to the world every chance we get, especially those in the Pagan land. It shows compassion and care because we aim to reach and save lives.

It is a rich representation of heritage because we showcase a lot of traditional clothing from all over the world, and personally it means a lot to me because I've been doing this as a kid growing up and I am able to represent different countries in a community that cares, not only for me but for the rest of the world as well.

Photo number 2 shows a picture of Donald Trump holding a piece of paper with the letters "DEI" on it and is somewhat almost tore. This photo is correlated to the DEI issue with Trump and his stance and governance promoting the dismissal of diversity, equity, and inclusion which is evident in his signing of an executive order targeting DEI programs in 2020, describing the initiatives as "detrimental to national unity". According to Jack Fisher (2025), Trumps administration said that the programs promote reverse discrimination and gives guilt to white American in terms of historical injustices which at the same time undermines the minority and marginalized.

I chose it because it is a controversial matter, affecting not only the Americans of different colors, but also our fellow Filipino and other races living in the United States. Personally, I feel the need to choose and speak up on this matter because a great mass of people would be affected given that America plays a big role in influencing the rest of the world and because it is important to already be inclusive and open about equality in our time, given the world's progression.

During my Student Coordinating Body (SCB), our team hosted an outreach program for public schools. I remember this was our last activity as a team during the year 2023-2024, and it was a bittersweet moment that represented pure intention and kindness with the people I truly cherish.

I chose this photo because I want to be reminded as a person who loves helping and giving kindness. I don't do it for something in exchange but with pure intention.

I also love being with people who have the same morality and intention as me. As you can see in the picture, although I don't know most of the students there personally however I knew that each of these different students varies with the history they have within.

This represents that even though each person varies from each other, it is important to show an act that would help them in a way throughout their life. Such as giving kindness, it wouldn't cost a penny to be able to be kind to each other.

This is our section wearing traditional Filipino clothing which we proudly wore the entire day inside the campus.

I chose this photo as it reflects how we proudly value our roots and take pride in showing who we truly are through our own culture. Spending the entire day wearing Filipiniana and Barong Tagalog gave me a realization of how special our traditions are and how it brings us closer together.

That day felt like a day for honoring our ancestors and the beauty of being a Filipino.

Additionally, this photo shows appreciation to our culture as it serves as a reminder that our traditions and cultures shouldn’t just be celebrated and honored during special events, but even on our daily living.

Here, you can genuinely see what Filipinos value most; family, traditions, and familial or cultural events that bring people together for special occasions, especially among close friends and family for milestones.

This photo symbolizes growth, love, and acknowledgement of those that have provided guidance and support throughout the years, but most importantly, it has helped me to appreciate my culture, remain rooted in tradition, and inspire me to take on new responsibilities as I became an adult.

As well as my appreciation to the different cultures and beliefs in this country. Not only did we go to Baguio for its popular cold weather, but for its rich culture and heritage that it gives as well. This photo shows our exploration to various traditions and cultures that are new to us. And it makes me appreciate the Filipino Identity knowing that we are one of the people but at the same time still have a-lot of differences that we respect and value toward one another.

The photo is a core-memory for me, It was our first time visiting Baguio and we were able to enjoy and have new experiences to try and witness the traditions and cultures that were new to us. We got to try a-lot of different food as well as Meeting the people of Baguio, And enjoy different activities and most importantly enjoy the city vibes.

Thinking about DEI reminded me of the old story "The Ugly Duckling." It might be a little unserious to compare these two, but metaphorically, it represents DEI perfectly.

The Ugly Duckling is all about a duck being isolated because it looked different among its siblings. Metaphorically, it's like a person being treated differently because of their gender, race, etc., which is still an issue to this day.

As the ugly duckling is being treated unfairly, it feels lonely and unwanted, which is why it leaves home and wanders around. However, it ended in a good way as the duckling finally feel belonged as it found a group of ducks similar to it and grew up being admired by others.

I chose this photo because this fairy tale can represent a real-life situation. Nobody deserves to be excluded and treated unfairly because they look different from the rest. In the contemporary world, we should be able to bypass this issue and learn how to treat people fairly. As we are very diverse from the rest, we shouldn't base our treatment on a certain identity. We should include everyone when it comes to giving out kindness and not be bias about anything.

This photo shows the special festival celebrated in my hometown, Quezon province called the Pahiyas festival. In Lucban, Quezon the Pahiyas festival is honored during the month of May in recognition of the patron saint of farmers, San Isidro Labrador. In this festival, multiple houses are decorated with colorful harvestous materials such as kiping, a leaf shaped rice wafers. They also put fruits and vegetables as decorations. Competitions between decorative houses, a parade of “higantes” and etc. are also happening during this event.

I chose this image because it represents my culture as a Filipino and the tradition that is happening in my hometown. This is something I miss whenever I’m back in Manila. When I was a child, I always looked forward to watching the pahiyas parade and seeing different houses filled with vibrant decorations. This image shows how creative Filipinos are and how serious they are in putting effort into important celebrations like this.

This picture reminds me of the beauty of Filipino culture and how important our traditions are in shaping joy and strengthens unity among Filipino people. This festival is not solely to celebrate, but also to represent Filipinos being effortlessly creative on occasions like this. It would always reflect upon us to be appreciative of our surroundings and the spirit that makes us Filipino.

In this picture, you can see our visit to the Manaoag church in Pangasinan, ever since it has been a tradition in our family because our dad was born there, so before we go to our house in Pangasinan, we always make sure to attend mass in manaoag. My family is a very religious type of person so they are strict with me and my siblings but I understand them. I chose this picture because it always reminds me how important it is to attend a mass with my family. My parents raised me that no matter how busy you are you should atleast give an hour to attend a mass. After the mass, we always buy candle to light and offer our prayers. There's also a delicious lugawan near the church, that's where we usually eat our breakfast and then yap together lol. It feels good when we always go to church especially when we are a whole family, no matter how small or big I always look at everything as a blessing that's why attending churches really has the biggest spot in my heart because my siblings have their own families it's just fun to think that they can still make time even though they are far away, that's why I always thank my parents because they raised us how important the whole family is.

I chose Martin Luther King Jr. Because he advocated for equality between his race and the latter. He fought for his rights and the rights of his race who were discriminated , treated unequally and diversified against his nations people His advocacy became a moving point into changing the racial views of Black people to the general public. He fought for the rights and spoke up against the ones opposing them.

The photo for me, is a symbol of Free will and Equality. it gives a lesson on the privileges that every person has the right to regardless of ethnicity , gender and social standing.

The photo shows me and my friends back in my old Catholic high school during our celebration of Buwan ng Wika. We are all wearing barong, which represents our Filipino culture and identity. In the picture, we are forming a circle that shows our unity and equality. Even though we all came from different families, we share the same roots, beliefs, and respect for our traditions. This photo reminds me how culture connects us no matter how different we are as people.

I chose this photo because it reminds me of the times when we celebrates our culture together during buwan ng wika event. It brings me back to those days when I was surrounded by people who respect and accepts each other’s differences. Even if we had different personalities, we treated each other equally. This photo showed what Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is, since some of us have a different religion but still study at a catholic school and some of my friends are not fully Filipino but still celebrated buwan ng wika with us. We can see that at this moment we are having fun.

This photo means a lot to me because it shows more than just a school event but it shows belonging like everyone inside that room is welcome to celebrate with us even though we have a diverse class with students that have different backgrounds. It reminds me that diversity makes our community stronger, and that inclusion means everyone is welcome to join us.

This photo shows my memory box, which is actually just an old shoe box filled with letters, gifts, receipts, and pictures from people who have been part of my life. Each item inside may look simple, but it carries a piece of a moment that meant something to me, whether it was laughter shared, time spent, or kindness given. I chose this photo because it represents how I treasure memories and connections, no matter how small or ordinary they may seem. To me, this box is a reminder that my identity is built not only from who I am alone but also from the people, experiences, and emotions that continue to shape me. It also reflects how diversity and inclusion exist in my life because every person behind these memories has a different story, yet all of them hold a special place in mine.

The photo captures one of the most iconic public transport in the Philippines. Decorated with colorful stickers and hand painted artworks that reflects Filipino creativity and culture. The image also shows the driver who skillfully navigates the streets to take its passengers to their destination.

I chose this picture because I believe that this vehicle symbolizes our identity as Filipino’s. We ride it almost every day whether going to work or school, shopping, hanging out with friends at the mall, or visiting a loved one’s house. The jeepney has become a staple and a part of our day to day lives, making it truly iconic and deserving to be a symbol of our identity.

For me a Jeepney symbolizes our journey everyday as Filipinos. We ride it after getting ready and enjoying a simple breakfast like eggs and leftover ulam yesterday, before heading to work or school. After a long and tiring day, we take another jeepney ride home to rest, relax and to share dinner with our loved ones. In my opinion, nothing screams “Filipino” more than the iconic jeepney.

The photo features people holding signs about equality, unity and peace. They were trying to bring back the DEI program, after President Trump issued an executive order to end the program. The photo also showcases their clothing, that emphasizes Human rights, Global Public Health and Healthcare.

I chose the image because it catches my attention that the government should take action upon the people’s request. Although according to what I read in the article President Trump end the program due to its disadvantages to people with skills and good performance, seeing it as a problem to company’s than a positive impact to promote Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

However, for me I think DEI programs should still be implemented because they help prevent discrimination and promote fairness and equal opportunities for everyone to contribute to society while supporting their families. These programs encourage people to be more open and trusting to the government and help companies build stronger relationships that values diversity, equity and inclusion.

My mom is in her wheelchair, but that didn’t stop us from enjoying the day. It shows how close we are and how we always make the best out of every moment. I chose this photo because it reminds me of how important family is to me. No matter what happens, we always find time to be together and support each other. It also shows how we stay positive and strong as a family. This picture brings back a lot of good memories from that trip.

The photo shows people protesting about keeping diversity as it provides opportunities for everyone, people of color and any genders, but it is only not limited to opportunities, it also includes the rights of the LGBT community. Everybody deserves equal opportunities and rights no matter what your skin color is or where you came from.

This photo means a lot to me because we must be open-minded now to accept that we are all the same human beings, that deserve equality and that everyone deserves the same chances and opportunities given to them as our race, ethnicity and gender don't affect how we do or act in life and the people who are protesting in this image is doing all of these for the greater good of everyone.

The photo shows a diverse workplace where people from different backgrounds, beliefs, and traditions are working together. But instead of teamwork, there are arguments and misunderstandings happening between them. The picture shows how diversity can sometimes cause conflict when people fail to respect each other’s differences and opinions. Opinions may vary because of someone's traditional beliefs. It also shows the struggle of keeping peace in a place where everyone wants to be heard but not everyone can listens.

I chose this photo because it shows the other side of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). Diversity is important, but it also needs understanding and respect to work. It is because sometimes, people hire workers just to make the workplace look diverse, not because they value what those people can truly bring. This photo shows me that being inclusive is not how your company or your work will look in public’s eyes but about treating everyone fairly and creating a space where people can work together without judgment.

This photo means a lot to me because it shows that DEI should not be done just for show. Diverse workplace is not just about how different people are working with each other, but how they work together despite those differences and they should have unity to work. This is when people focus too much on publicity stunts instead of unity, the purpose of DEI is lost. This photo makes me realize that respect and understanding are what make a workplace strong, not just diversity alone.

Some of you have probably watched this, this picture is from the movie Mean Girls (2004). The most memorable line for me in this movie is when Cady Heron says "Calling somebody else fat won't make you any skinnier, Calling someone stupid doesn't make you any smarter" this message is very important because it shows kindness, self acceptance and respect for anyone. I chose this photo because we can learn that it's not just about a person's physical appearance but also about respecting a person's race, gender, ability, identity and many other things. It's sad to think about it but there are still people who experience being laughed at, talked about, judged just because of their differences. In the Mean Girls (2004), the main character there loves to judge based on the looks, popularity and social status of others. they feel so powerful when someone is left out but in reality that behavior only shows hate and insecurity. This line also makes us understand self-awareness because there are people who talk bad about others because they have insecurity. I may not be a perfect person, but we should know how to accept ourselves or our differences from other people. If we base the show Mean Girls (2004) on DEI, judging someone doesn't make you look perfect. Real growth comes from understanding, empathy, and respect. The more we practice this behavior, the more people feel seen, valued, and appreciated and loved.

This photo shows my family and me standing in front of the church during our visit to the 14 Stations of the Cross. Every year, we make it a tradition to visit different churches together, not only to pray but also to spend time as a family and reflect on our faith. I chose this photo because it represents both our deep connection to God and the strong family bond that guides me in life. Growing up in a Filipino family that values faith, I’ve learned the importance of prayer, humility, and togetherness. This simple tradition reminds me that no matter where I go or how busy life gets, my faith and my family will always be my foundation.

This photo shows people from different nationalities talking and trying to understand one another, even though they come from different cultures and speak different languages. I chose this picture because it captures something real about the world we live in that diversity can be both beautiful and challenging. Sometimes, misunderstandings happen when people don’t share the same words or traditions, but moments like this remind me that communication goes beyond language. When people take the time to listen, respect, and learn from each other, barriers slowly disappear. To me, this photo represents hope that no matter how different we are, we can still find connection through kindness, openness, and the simple act of trying to understand one another.

Photo number 1 shows a group photo of me and my family by Christ that was taken last June 2024 in Davao City. It is the elder and youth member of our church that participated in a yearly Christian youth camp in Davao City, representing the strength, love, and beliefs of our church.

I choose this photo because it shows different peoples that aren't related by blood but are connected to one another by Christ. It is a powerful photo that shows that no matter what are the demographic profile of a person they can become one that treat each other equally.

It is a rich representation of equality and inclusion because it shows how everyone was included regarding the age and the gender having a same clothes that represent the main goal of that camping. Having everyone that joined received certificate so no one would feel excluded, and in my perspective this means a lot to me because, I was able to collaborate with everyone I don't know deeply but I felt included to everything by everyone because they treated me equally.

The photo shows a blackwoman holding a poster stating the words "DEMOCRACY VOTE PEACEFUL PEOPLE DIVERSITY EQUITY INCLUSION" this photo was taken in Philadelphia showing a woman protesting after Donald Trump signed a executive order that targets companies that practices DEI because he claims that DEI is a another form of racism and is against white people.

I chose this photo because it holds a powerful meaning showing a person fighting for the peoples right. She was fighting for the equality for every race in America specially for her people that are losing their job and will be able to work again because of the order Trump signed. She was simply implying that everyone deserves an opportunity to participate and to be treated right no matter what is your skin color, gender, or where one came from.

This photo personally means a lot to me because as a youth we must be open minded that everybody deserves to be treated right and equally because we're all human beings that deserves to have equal opportunities. Having different background, beliefs, physical profile doesn't mean one should be excluded just like the woman in the photo, protesting not just for herself but for the good of everyone.
