         <description><![CDATA[<div><br><br>Dadra and Nagar Haveli lies within the North Western Ghats moist deciduous forests ecoregion, characterised by forests of teak (Tectona grandis) and other dry-season deciduous trees. About 43% of the land is under forest cover.<br>Flora</div><div><br></div><div>With 20852 hectares of the total geographical area being covered in forests, the union territory is rich in Dadra &amp; Nagar Haveli flora. The flora of Dadra and Nagar Haveli comprise of a thick growth of rare species of trees in the forests. The prior concern of the forest department is to protect the forest environment and thus lays emphasis on the need to maintain the ecological balance in the region. The forest department of Dadra and Nagar Haveli is also engaged in the rehabilitation of the degraded and depleted flora in the union territory.</div><div><br></div><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br><br><br><br>The flora in Dadra and Nagar Haveli comprise of the rare species of Sadra, Mahara, Sisam, Khair and teak trees. A part of the thick forest region is navigable where 58 tribal villages of the union territory reside. The villages gather their food and fodder from the forest. The forest of Dadra and Nagar Haveli is are rich in economic resources that are used in the small and cottage industries that have developed in the region. Precautions are taken by the forest department to ensure that the use of the forest resources do not lead to deforestation.<br><br></div>]]></description>

Animals and birds native to Dadra and Nagar Haveli are leopards, Golden Deer, Four horned Antelope, Striped Hyena, Black Drongo, Bulbul and Heron.<br>Over 100 species have been recorded from Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and almost all have been photographed as well.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In Dadra and Nagar Haveli, the Satmalia Deer Park is kind of a small wildlife sanctuary for many species of deer and antelopes. The park is situated on the Khanvel Silvassa road just a few kilometres away from the Vasona Lion Safari.<br><br>The park boasts of having variety of deer species like Sambhar, Chital, Nilgai, Black Bucks etc. along with different kinds of birds like Peacocks, Thrushes, Flameback Woodpecker and many more. Inside the park near to a water hole, there is a watch tower (or Machaan), from where one can get an amazing panoramic view of the entire Satmalia. Park and can also see the distant Mahuban Dam.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Vasona Lion Safari park, major attraction , is about 10 km from Silvassa. The 20 acre land is basically part of Dadra &amp; Nagar Haveli Wildlife sanctuary. The park is known as the home of Asiatic lions. You can take a ride in vans fitted with net mesh screen to explore the park and spot the lions in their natural habitat.<br>The park was established to conserve Asiatic lioness and lion, provide proper medication, take care of their cubs and keep a track of its breeding. It covers almost 25 hectares of land and is enclosed within a 3 meter high wall. The park is next to the Satmaliya Deer Park.</div>]]></description>
