This is Shekinah Abolo's first year at HCC. She's majoring in Communications in hopes of becoming a journalist. In 2025, she's transferring to a 4-year university to realize her dreams.

I decided on this topic because I care about the plights of the Palestinian people and feel a responsibility to constantly mention it. I learned just how involved with the genocide the United States is, and that is the thesis: that we, the people, have the responsibility to put an end to this. I usually don't do drafts, I just write, but I think that in this case, following the outline really helped. I used a source that showed how the U.S. supports the genocide through funding and sending the weaponry.

This was definitely the best essay I did for this class. I realized that I should've my introduction a body paragraph since it was much better than what I had. You can tell that I didn't really know what to write for that second body paragraph. The analysis in the introduction was rock solid. Honestly, so good, no notes. I think I got the grade that I deserved.

Same story as my rhetorical analysis. To add more depth to the essay, I should have done research into the figures in the artwork; after it was done, I found the lady in question, and I think talking about her and why she was chosen would have elevated the essay. Not my worst work.

My worst contribution to this class. Don't know if you can tell, but I was originally going to do another, concentrated topic on something completely unrelated. I think it would've been more informative and interesting for the class. I didn't really bother with the draft; it was a freestyle. I don't think that it's a worthless listen, but it could've benefitted from more organization.
