Hades within the mythology of ancient Rome was known as Lord of the underworld, a pre Christian idea of "Hell", however Hades is not described as in other myths like the Devil or Satan, he is not necessarily evil but instead a more neutral herder of evil souls. Presented in young and old forms, Hades is the abductor of Persephone, and brings her to his realm.

The Story of Persephone and and Hades.

Persephone, the daughter of Demeter, a greek god of the harvest and weather, is considered beautiful among the Gods, and it helps to be child of Zeus as his favor in marriage is completely stone cold in it's seriousness. Hades is the God of the underworld, the place where all evil souls go to rest. From this point on, the story becomes clouded from different interpretations, but the one I used goes on as follows. Demeter becomes entranced by a narcissus seed planted by Gaia, as a favor for Hades, Hades bursts through and seduces her into coming in his golden chariot. Because of the anger of Demeter out of Zeus allowing this, she ceases the harvest on earth.
Hades begins to see her distress and lets Hermes bring her back to Demeter, however since she had eaten 6 pomegranate seeds she becomes bound to the underworld, and has to come back during Winter seasons, to the greeks, explaining Winter.
