Allow her to be more humanized. Yet she had inherited mental insanity to the point she denied her fathers death for weeks.

" I want some poison. she said to the druggist. She was over thirty then, still a slight woman, though thinner than usual, with cold, haughty black eyes in a face the flesh of which was strained across the temples and about the eye sockets as you imagine a light house - keepers face ought to look. i want some poison, she said." Ch.3

Not only does this show she hasn't been taking care of herself, it shows she is not mentally okay. She knows Homer will leave soon, she doesn't want him to leave. She will be alone again. She is planning to kill Homer to make him stay with her forever. She also had found Homer was not interested in her, he liked men.

" What was left of him, rotted beneath what was left of the nightshirt." Ch.5
"The violence of breaking down the door seemed to fill this room with pervading dust" Ch.5

When Miss Emily passed, her family had sorted through the house. There was a room that hasn't been open in weeks. The door was covered in dust and the room was covered in dust and had a smell. The family looked around the room that was hidden away from life it self, and when they had look at the bed they had found Homers dead body, that had rotted and become of skull laying. They had also found a grey hair of Miss Emily's, meaning her isolation had gotten so bad she couldn't stand herself and when she found someone she didn't want to let go. The only way she could make them stay was to kill him and isolate them both together.
