Raven is one of the main members of the comic book series and tv show Teen Titans. Most of what I know about her is based off the television show as I have never read the comics myself. When I would watch the show when I was younger I would always admire her mysterious aesthetic and always wanted to know more about her origin story. Raven was born into a very dark and twisted situation and I resonated with that based on my childhood and connected with the character because I to had a strenuous relationship with my parents. She is at constant battles with herself to control her powers and to contain the dark side of herself which is another behavior I feel I share with her. Her sense of humor is very dark and tends to be misconstrued as cruel but I always found her entertaining and at times quite funny because I also have a darker sense of humor. In the show Raven has difficulty forming relationships because of her inner struggles and other characters often do not find her dark humor funny which is a situation I often find myself in. Raven is arguably the most powerful member of Teen Titans and all thought she is tempted by her dark side constantly she continues to fight and use it for good because of the love that she has for her friends. She is such a strong character to be able to wield all that power and not abuse it and this is a characteristic she has that I would like to incorporate into myself. I admire how strong and down to business she is and that she fights to have a normal life in spite of her twisted upbringing.
