One of the many ways we do this is by Video Modeling. Indeed there are videos already created and available for free use online, but our newest thought is to create our own within our school, using our own staff and student body. MY AP Chemistry students were given the task of testing a client's water for "hardness". They had to present their findings and research in a client report created collaboratively in google docs. Specifically, this will be to brainstorm figures of speech as we read novels or to writing parts or all of paragraphs in my secondary classes -- they will learn more from a variety of sources.

I love this idea and I think it is would be a great way for my students to share what they have learned about a topic. I really like the idea of taking it a little further and having more than one person work on a comic or peer reviewing a comic before it becomes a video. To learn to look for authentic sources and credentials. Youtube is a dangerous tool and students are automatically drawn to it--to share their own videos and to consume the videos of their peers.
