This is how Amir views America, as a long-desired opportunity to leave his guilt behind and move on with forward-flowing America instead of being stuck in the past within Afghanistan. Maybe Amir's dream about the lake represents Afghanistan, not flowing anywhere, just sitting in the same spot(in the past) where a current doesn't wash away your sins, but instead lets them sit and fester, where monsters can get you.</div>]]></description>
