My book is Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K Rowling. It would b classified as a fantasy book. I was first recommended this book by my boyfriend. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who has read the first three books. It has intriguing characters, easy to read language, and overall is a real page turner. I would rate it 4.5 out of 5 stars. The only deduction being the one chapter that was slightly less intriguing than the rest. But overall I think it was a really good book.
The book starts out with wizard Harry Potter. He awakes with a scare about his archenemy Voldemort coming back. He goes back to the school where he gets mysteriously entered into the Triwizard Tournament. This consists of 3 tasks. First, fighting off dragons, second, saving the thing they would miss most from the clutches of the merpeople, and third, a maze full of obstacles with the Triwizard cup in the middle. Helping him through all this was the new defense against the dark arts teacher, Professor Moody. Harry got through all of the tasks and at the end, he and Cedric Diggory touched the cup at the same time. It transported them to a place where Lord Voldemort was in the process of taking on a new body. A whole story unfolded signifying that Voldemort is rising up against the wizard community once again.

The review I found stated that the section of Voldemort's return to life and to power as well as Cedric Diggory's death was anticlimactic and a slow section of the book. It also stated that the more interesting part of the book is the storyline of Crouch's son. He escaped from Azkaban by switching bodies with his mother who then died. He switched bodies with professor Moody and followed Voldemort's wishes by setting Harry up. He was found out in the end and had his soul sucked out by dementors.
I completely disagree with this review. I think that the part with Voldemort is much more interesting than the part with Crouch. Voldemort brings this fear and this anxiety. He can control everyone except Harry and Dumbledore. I think that it was the most exciting and page turning part of the book when Harry and Voldemort faced off in a duel. When all the people Voldemort killed came back to edge him on in his fight, And also when one of the favored people from Hogwarts was killed by Voldemort. In the end it leaves a cliff hanger. It keeps us wanting more. That is part of what makes it such an amazing climactic moment.

One universal theme in the book is you should always trust your instincts because they might actually be correct. This is a universal theme because in situations where people are wavering back and forth on a decision the best thing that you can do is to go with your gut. Another way to put this, in Disney terms, is to follow your heart.
In the first chapter Harry awakes to his scar "burning beneath his fingers as though someone had just pressed a white-hot wire to his skin" (Rowling 16). As a result Harry knows something is wrong and contacts Sirius. When his scar hurt him for a second time Rowling writes, "Sirius had told him what to do if his scar hurt him again, and Harry was going to follow his advice: He was going straight to Dumbledore's office" (Rowling 578). In the end it was found out that Voldemort was indeed back. Following his instincts in telling the adults and acknowledging that something was wrong was what saved him in the end. That is why I chose the universal theme of following your instincts.

Mad-eye Moody is a very important character. He is viewed by the public eye as someone who is terrified by the dark arts and is always paranoid about something happening. In this story, Moody becomes the Dark Arts teacher and was controlled by Voldemort. His primary job was to "frighten off every person he thought might try to hurt him or prevent him from winning the tournament." (Rowling 676).
The man who was disguised as Moody had the primary goal to deliver to Voldemort "the one thing he wanted above all" (Rowling 676), Harry. He says how much alike himself and Voldemort are. And looks up to Voldemort almost like he would to his own father. He wanted nothing more in life but to serve his master and do everything in his power to make his master happy.
I personally do not relate to this character. I do not do evil things just to please other people. And I would not be willing to kill others or betray others to serve an evil person who wants nothing more than world destruction and domination. I am not a paranoid person to my knowledge and I also am not possessed by a dark wizard.
