In the text it said, "You live with them?' Alessandra said incredulously." This confused me because I did not know what the word meant. I came to the conclusion that it meant jealously because Alessandra was very jealous of lark living with the band. Roy would probably not want to concern his parents and make them think e wanted to drop out. If he had said, "Is it illegal to skip school? I think he is doing this to impress the chief, and to show them that he is a good cop and deserves a promotion, but it could be something else. Right now in the book, there are different parts of each chapter, one from each situation.
