Henlo, fellas! My name is Siti Nursazwani Binti Bijakan and I'm gonna be celebrating my 24th birthday this May! I often spend my free time listening to music through my Spotify application. I also do a part-time job as an Amway Business Owner (ABO) so if anyone is in need of guidance in terms of organic and healthy lifestyle, please do roger me!

My expectation for this course is that hopefully I'll be able to fully understand exactly what tourism is and explore more about it. Taking this course, I really wish it would be another great experience for me as I really enjoyed studying Tourism before in my previous college so I personally think it's really not a crime to take another session so why not? I believe there is no limit in seeking knowledge. That's all from me, adios! •ᴗ•

THE EMPIRE ERA

The Egyptians started traveling to Greek until the fall of the Roman Empire. Some traveled with the purpose of their own pleasure, some would began traveling for governmental, commercial, educational and even for religious purposes.

As tourism has been really common among the Egyptians, basic things like accommodation and food were also provided.
During this era, the industry has already started to introduce fun hospitality activities such as shopping, eating, gaming and also theaters.

THE MIDDLE AGES AND THE RENAISSANCE ERA

This era was almost the downfall of travel and tourism when the Roman rule has been crumpled by the Feudal system. Not long after that, Crusades happened and tried to retake the Holy Land but each failed until it was retaken by Muslims.

The rebirth of traveling approached slowly during the 14th to 16th centuries where merchants started opening their new territories especially when their commercial activities started to grow. In this era, I learned that despite everything that happened including the downfall, if you are eager enough for something then everything is possible.

THE GRAND TOUR ERA

This era was originated by the wealthy ones and spread among others who had time and money for traveling. During this era, most people traveled in the purpose of seeking and experiencing the civilized world through the countries they visited especially Europe. As traveling was popular among the wealthy ones, it became a business to tourism suppliers because they were the ones that serve the needs for travelers.

THE MOBILITY ERA

As few eras have passed, people began to find multiple ways to fill their precious time by traveling as long as they could get away from their jobs in offices, stores and factories. Now that stagecoaches, new roads, sailing ships have became very common for them, tourism industry also started to receive their own hype.

In this era as well, the first tour packages for mass travel were developed by Thomas Cook within the year of 1808 until 1892. He was the one who organized the first mass travel for 570 people and ever since then, the demand for more assistance in making travel arrangements was all led by him.

For your information, this era was also the one that introduced automobiles and air travel. The growth of roads and transportation development increased more alternatives to attract more people to the idea of travel.

THE MODERN ERA

Mass tourism was a total hype especially after the World War II that ended in 1945. Over 17 million of people were exposed to new destinations as they served their military. There were a few factors that boost the growth of tourism including large production of cars as well as the gas which was no longer rationed.

In 1950, the existence of Diners Club Card which we call as credit card right now, provided the travelers to purchase everything in the world without taking the risk of carrying cash with you. Aside from that, one of the most interesting thing that happened in the industry was that the invention of jet travel and it is still growing its popularity in both domestic and international.
